Alexis A. Moore was classically trained in operatic vocals at the prestigious High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX where she learned to sing with a vengeance. While her pristine voice was a hit at parties, she was well aware she would never have her own sound until she went out into the world to claim it. At the age of 17, Alexis submerged herself in the world of Blues and Jazz. Ma Rainey, Flora Purim, and Billy Holiday could be heared wafting from her home in the Houston Heights at all hours of the day. Over the following few years Alexis would crash any and every blues/jazz open mic she could find. Knowing full well she was under-age, she was immensely grateful for being granted permission to wail at will in some of Houston's most notorious Blues venues.

Inspired and saddened by the lack of authentic music pumped through Houston's radio waves, Alexis decided to pick up a guitar and write some tunes of her own. The Rhythm Room in Houston, TX became the stage to unleash her sound on the world. She created a band and soon became a regular act at The Rhythm Room, The Engine Room and  Warehouse Live. As a farewell gig, Alexis A. Moore played the Superbowl Festival in Downtown Houston before breaking up the band and moving to Austin.

While Austin is the place to be for Texas musicians, Alexis discovered that finding and playing gigs is a very difficult accomplishment within it's saturated music scene. When she realized she was no longer enjoying the fight to play live, she decided to cancel all desires to play gigs to concentrate on her song writing. Whether it was something in the water or the inspiration of Austin's natural beauty, Alexis A. Moore crafted what can only be called a sound all of her own.

In May 2007, Alexis met Stick Martin (The Stick Martin Show) in Tampa, FL. Together, they approached their music like mad scientists creating life. Locked in a small home studio, they created the EP 'Closer to the End' (July 2008) with a style attributed to the delicate blending of two musical outcasts and a microphone.

Alexis A. Moore does not apologize. She does not strive to 'fit-in'. She lives her life by one motto and one motto only: Be true to YOURSELF. Celebrate your individuality in all that you do. Create music as if your strings are the paintbrush of your soul and never compromise your art in exchange for acceptance.
